Eight Million…

… The number of Firefox 3.0 downloads the Mozilla Foundation claim took place within 24 hours of the browser’s launch. At least three of them was me. Thanks to nerd. for reminding me! The Telegraph’s Claudine Beaumont reports that the world record attempt almost ended in failure.

Google Apps at Ulster

The University of Ulster seems to have caught onto the Google Apps train. I was looking up the address of my Placement Supervisor and it seems staff now are able to update a personal Google Pages site of their own. Hopefully it means they will replace the awful Novell NetMail system which is just a pain to use. Read more »

Firefox3 Download Day

Download Day 2008
Mozilla, the makers of popular web browser Firefox want to break the record for the most software downloads in one day. Download Day 2008 will coincide with the launch of Firefox3 (codename “Gran Paradiso”).

You can try-out Release candidate by downloading from the Mozilla website. However I suggest using the Firefox 3 RC1 Portable Edition, as it won’t overwrite your existing Firefox install and your Add-ons won’t get messed up.

Petrol Prices

\

There’s only a limited supply left, and blowing up the half Middle East hasn’t helped. Petrol prices are only going up. I found this useful website on while on a general Google. Petrol Prices.com is a free website which contains price data for over 10,000 UK petrol stations.

You can either use the quick search and get the five cheapest petrol stations within a five miles, or sign up and get unlimited data for up to 20 miles from your home.

Keithblog3

A Blue DuckWoo hoo! You found it. Welcome one and all to my first WordPress blog post here on Keithblog3. As you can see I’m still working on the design and all the rest that comes with customising a blog.

For continuity sake I might be tempted to use the Keithblog2 template for a while. WordPress is working well, except it would seem my version is already out of date - never had that bother on Blogger.
